Preschool and Pre-K Program

Bright Eyes proudly follows the InvestiGators Club Preschool/PreK Curriculum. The InvestiGator Club curriculum is one of five MSDE approved curriculums and is 1 of 2 that received a 5 Star rating through the Maryland State Department of Education. Throughout the course of the year, your child will gradually rotate through 7 themed learning units. Each unit teaches an array of essential skills to help your child learn and develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and academically. Each child will learn through exploration and play-based learning, in the guidance of our trained teachers. Each themed unit provides comprehensive lesson plans and activities to stimulate the young minds to all of our Preschool and PreK children. This curriculum has individualized instruction to aid all types of learners.

In our classrooms, we celebrate culture and diversity, as well as social and emotional development. Throughout the curriculum, your child will be guided through many different activities, music styles, cultural awareness activities, and more. Children will learn to use teamwork skills, as well as problem solving techniques, coping skills, and appropriate ways to express emotions.

During our large group activities, children work on their cognitive development as they go through an array of topics with Dilly Gator and friends. Children will begin exploring and participating in  think-pair-share, shared writing, phonological awareness, sight word reading, and many new exciting skills.

Your child will have the opportunity to sit with a small group of 3-4 children to work with the teacher on math, science, and/or language arts activities every day. Children are encouraged to listen and engage in conversation.

Throughout the year, we will continuously observe and assess your child's development. This is an opportunity for our teachers to see where your child's strengths are and where we can help your child grow. Observation checklists are completed at the end go each of the 7 units to follow up on the key components of the lessons learned in that unit.

Twice a year, we invite parents to come sit down with the teachers to discuss your child's development and show you the progress your child has made as he or she continues their learning journey. This gives parents the opportunity to discuss with your child's teacher any questions, concerns, strengths and any further information that may be important to help pave the path for your child's learning.

For children age 2+, Bright Eyes provides a fitness enrichment activities once a week to do Physical Education activities with Mr. Andrew. The  children will get up, dance and move, while learning new skills in teamwork while getting active.
